My name is Dana. Until February 24, I lived happily with my mother and 15-year-old son in Kiev in Ukraine. But on February 24, around 5 a.m., we woke up to very powerful bursts that shook the house and cold terror froze in the body! I knew that we were being bombed! Everyone who had the opportunity fled the city en masse in panic.
We could not hide in the bomb shelter, because it is far away, and it is difficult for my mother to walk even with a stick, and my son categorically refused to leave his grandmother alone. Unfortunately, my mother fell ill and needed medicine and medical care, and our food and water supplies were gradually running out.
We and the family we lived with were in despair. But God hears our prayers and help from Refugee Support was very timely and the only salvation for us! We were able to cure my mother.
I am immensely grateful to Refugee Support for its continued support of our family! My work disappeared with the war and I don’t have the money to buy food on my own. The war is still going on. People are dying, civilians are left without heat and light, without jobs and livelihoods.
I thank America and all empathetic Americans for their support which enables us to survive while we pray for an end to this terrible war.
